What happens to retirement contributions when an employee takes FMLA leave?

Salary deductions for retirement will continue to be taken from an employee’s paycheck as long as the employee is on paid leave (using sick and vacation hours). The District will then continue to make contributions while the employee is on this paid leave status. Once the employee goes into an unpaid leave, retirement contributions will cease.
