For FLMA or CFRA leave, employees will use all accrued sick leave for which they are eligible for their own serious health condition, depending on their labor contracts. Paraprofessionals and Civil Service employees (certificated staff excluded; see 100 days of paid benefit in contract) may supplement their pay through the State Disability Insurance (SDI), if they have deductions for this benefit. SDI pays 2/3 of their salary, depending on their accruals and can be supplemented with 1/3 of their sick and vacation hours, if available.
