Extended hours refers to compensation for extra hours worked. Extended hours, just like overtime, needs pre-approval from the employee’s supervisor before it is entered in the timesheet.
EMPowerSF brings about a significant improvement to the extended calendar request process that existed in PeopleSoft. Instead of an upfront request and budget checking process, EMPowerSF will focus on an after-the-fact budget monitoring process.
Employees can enter their own extended hours directly on the timesheet. Central Office Supervisors and Principals can also add extended hours directly on the timesheets of the employees they manage along with a SACS code. The Budget Office will review and follow up if the SACS Code is invalid or there is insufficient budget.
