In Workforce, timekeepers and time approvers (managers) will be able to pull reports to view work hours in real time. This is a change from having to chase missing time at the end of every pay period based on manual process. Clerks will be able to use the report to track down those who forget to enter time more efficiently.
The benefits of this change include: automated, just-in-time reporting; ability to close missed punches daily; easy way to track/keep up with variances; easy way for payroll to identify possible risks sooner rather than later; and, faster way to fix errors with greater transparency.
Timekeepers are expected to run the timekeeping report daily. Below are items to look for in the report:
- Missed Entries
- Holidays
Employees with ESS will be able to log hours on top of a holiday. People managers will have to verify that employees do not add time on holidays or they may be overpaid. The exception to this rule is Classified Civil Service (CSC) and Paraprofessional (PAR).
